top secret recipe?

Aww, freshman year Whitters!
shhhh....
I've been bullied into a corner for this recipe a few times, so if you happen to stumble upon this blog, write this down. This is hands down one of my favorite things to make and I think I've made a few friends because of it, too. Every little bit helps, right? This is called Danish cake, and I see what you might be thinking: is it really Danish? Nope, it's not, but I understand the confusion, because Danish food is quite delicious. <3

Danish Cake
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 pkg. french vanilla pudding mix (smallest size)
1 container of sour cream (personally, go with the 16oz)
1 tsp almond extract
4 eggs
¾ cups oil

for later: 1/2 stick of butter
                 cinnamon-sugar

Preheat the oven to 350° F and combine all the ingredients--except the cinnamon sugar and butter, that's for later. It's usually easier to mix the liquid/moist ingredients first then adding the cake and pudding mix.

Once it's mixed completely, you need to grease a bunt pan. Use the butter (softened)nd spread it all over the pan, if you wash your hands, it's easier to use your hand to make sure it's properly spread in the contours of the pan. You also need to sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar in the pan as well. Trust me, on this one!

Carefully put the cake mix in the pan and spread so it's evenly set. Don't worry if the mix only fills up the pan half way or something like that; it's going to rise and fill the whole pan!

Bake for 50-55 minutes and use a toothpick to test if it's done. If it comes out clean, mission accomplished.

You need to remove the cake from the pan--immediately. You'll need a sturdy plate. Just place the plate on top of the pan and use oven mitts and flip the entire thing. Carefully lift the pan directly up and if you spread the butter correctly before, the pan will come up and the cake will be perfectly intact.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, because more will equal deliciousness. You need to wait for it to cool and if you have leftovers, it needs to be covered and tinfoil usually works. It keeps it niiiice and moist!

Well, the secret's finally out. If you have fantastically radical success, be sure to credit me? Please? Stay tuned for more party-rific recipes.

Deets on the Mission Address

Okay, so if you've been living under a rock, or don't have a Facebook (nuance, really) I'm serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in
BERLIN, GERMANY.

Yeah. Fan-flippin'-tastic, right??

Everybody's wanting the deets on the address so that they can write to me later (but seriously, I haven't left yet, so you can still talk to me. I'm talking to all those people who say that they'll write me but I haven't heard a thing from 'em since finals ended!)

But seriously, I have the addresses, so here they are! I'll also post it on my FB for those who are silly and haven't discovered this budding blog.

This is my MTC address! You'll probably need it from August-end of October-ish.

Sister Whitney Olsen
Germany Berlin Mission
Provo Missionary Training Center
2005 N 900 E
Provo, UT 84604
United States
This is the big mission address! It might be changed with time, so stayed tuned.

Sister Whitney Olsen
Germany Berlin Mission
Zerbster Strasse 42
12209 Berlin
Germany

It floors me how supportive everyone is of my mission and I'm so grateful for my family & friends; I've been wanting to be a missionary for a long time and they're all there for me. I just hope I'll be a good missionary!

Linky-face

"Virtue is bold, and goodness never fearful." ~William Shakespeare
Yeah, so what if I <3 Shakespeare? This post is devoted to my lovely Link, the family cat. He is ridiculous in every way. He seriously thinks he's a stealthy predator the way he tries to sneak up on me. But he likes me because I'm an expert masseuse.

Link likes marimbas and sniffing shoes. Aaaaannd he likes napping on freshly washed, and folded clothes...

blargityy blarg blog.

"Though she be but little, she is fierce!" William Shakespeare { A Midsummer's Night Dream }

{I'm going to try to be a tad bit more swank with some fun quotes at the beginning of each blog. gag much?}
Well, I thought about how I should start off, and I considered the whole, "list quirky things that make me seem unique and fun" start, but I don't have the time nor patience to just roll it out. I mean, if you're reading this, chances are you already know who I am, right? You probably just saw the link on FB am I right?
So we'll skip all that stuff.

Here's something that I actually worked on for the background of my blog, but yeah, long story short, I'm *learning* about blogging and blogspot has been a crust for the past day or two. blarg. I used my own photo and then spruced it up with some textures that I love from deviantart.com and then of course a suave quote from Jane Austen; can't go wrong w/ a soul sista like Jane Austen, right? right.

Check out the original!

Look ma, no photoshop! This is probably one of my favorite shots that I've taken because it's always harder to take dark/evening shots but this came out so clear, I love the colors and *sigh* when things just work out like that w/o photo editing, it just melts your heart. Is this enough for the first post? Blog protocol is a bit above me at the moment.
